Banamalli Organises Speech Competition on

Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti

Inspiring Young Minds Through the Ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri

Banamalli Sahitya Seva Sangathan organised a meaningful programme on 2 October 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri at Gadajata Smaraki Peetha, Brundadeipur, Jenapur, Jajpur.

The programme brought together more than 50 students from different schools in the local area, providing them with a platform to express their thoughts, develop confidence and reflect on the values and ideals of two of India’s respected national leaders.

A Programme Beginning with Prayer and Remembrance

The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the light of knowledge, truth and hope.

This was followed by the soulful rendition of “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram,” creating an atmosphere of remembrance and reflection and setting the tone for a programme dedicated to the ideals associated with Mahatma Gandhi.

Teachers, social workers and members of Banamalli Sahitya Seva Sangathan also addressed the gathering. Through their speeches, they highlighted the importance of values, social responsibility, service to society and the continuing relevance of the ideals of Gandhi and Shastri in the lives of young people.

Speech Competition on Rural Development

The main attraction of the programme was a speech competition organised among school students on the theme:

“The Development of Villages Is the Real Development of the Nation.”

More than 50 students from various schools in the surrounding area participated in the competition.

The topic encouraged students to think beyond the classroom and reflect on the importance of their own villages and communities. The participants shared their views on rural development, education, social progress, community participation and the role of villages in the overall development of the country.

The competition provided students with an opportunity to speak publicly, share their ideas and listen to the perspectives of their fellow participants.

Encouraging Young Voices

The event was more than just a competition. It created a valuable platform for students of the local area to express themselves, build confidence and develop communication and public-speaking skills.

By engaging students with a meaningful social topic, the programme also encouraged them to think about their responsibilities towards their communities and the development of the society around them.

Such opportunities can help young people understand that meaningful change begins at the grassroots level and that the development of villages and local communities is an important part of the development of the nation.

Remembering the Ideals of Gandhi and Shastri

The programme also served as an opportunity to remember the lives, principles and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

Their ideals continue to inspire generations. Values such as truth, simplicity, responsibility, dedication and service remain relevant in building a responsible and compassionate society.

Through activities such as this, Banamalli aims to connect young minds with the values and ideals of great personalities while encouraging them to think about their role in society.

Appreciation for Every Participant

At the conclusion of the speech competition, all the participating students were presented with prizes in recognition of their participation and efforts.

The gesture appreciated the students' enthusiasm, preparation and courage to come forward and speak before an audience.

For Banamalli, every participant's involvement is valuable. Encouraging students to participate in such activities can motivate them to continue learning, expressing their ideas and contributing positively to society.

A Platform for Learning, Expression and Inspiration

The programme successfully brought together students, teachers, social workers and members of Banamalli in a common space dedicated to learning, remembrance and social awareness.

It provided students of the local area with a meaningful platform while encouraging them to understand and reflect upon the ideals of great national leaders.

Banamalli Sahitya Seva Sangathan believes that programmes involving young people can play an important role in nurturing confidence, awareness, responsibility and leadership qualities.

The organisation hopes that such initiatives will continue to inspire students to participate actively in their communities and carry forward the values of service, humanity and social responsibility.

Continuing the Spirit of Service

Through initiatives focused on education, literature, culture and community service, Banamalli Sahitya Seva Sangathan continues to create opportunities for people, especially young students, to learn, participate and contribute.

The Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti programme was another step towards creating a stronger connection between young minds, social values and community development.

The enthusiastic participation of the students made the occasion meaningful and memorable, reaffirming the importance of providing young people with opportunities to speak, think, learn and be inspired.
